HOLLIDAYSBURG, Pa. -- A noise battle in Blair County waged on Tuesday between residents of Sinking Valley and their Amish neighbors. The controversy is over the Hostetler family's sawmill, furniture store and dog kennel. The Hostetler's neighbors took them to court about a year ago, but on Monday they were headed back to the Blair County Courthouse.Noah and Mary Hostetler said since the judge ordered them to quiet down earlier this year, they have done everything they could to control the noise, including putting a silencer on their blower at the sawmill and stopping work on Saturdays. However, some of their neighbors said the efforts have not been enough.Shaun Endress and other neighbors asked the judge to reconsider his ruling. They said they still want a wall constructed between the furniture store and their homes. They said the barking dogs are also still a nuisance. The Hostetlers said they are not violating any laws. They said being in court again is torture, but that they will wait to hear what the judge has to say.On Monday, Judge Tim Sullivan told the Amish family and their neighbors that he needs a couple more weeks before he hands down his decision.
