Car Found In Johnstown River

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- Police in the Johnstown area were trying to solve a mystery Thursday morning: how a car ended up in a local river and who drove it there.The owner of a Ford Taurus, found in the Riverside section, has no idea how his car got into the Stony Creek River, miles from where he had parked itOfficials said a bicyclist spotted the slightly submerged car and called 911. Once crews determined no one was in the car, or was thrown from the vehicle, they contacted the owner and pulled it out.Police are investigating whether the Taurus may have been stolen. Investigators said they found a large rock on the gas pedal and found a key in the ignition of the Ford Taurus.
