People and business owners in Ebensburg said truck traffic is causing way too much noise, dirt and dust downtown.Cutting through town is the fastest and easiest way for truckers to avoid Route 22. Downtown Ebensburg has been more busy at the intersection of High Street and Center Street thanks to the borough's revitalization project.Borough officials say their hands are tied though. PennDOT rejected a request to let the borough take control of the state-owned roads and impose weight limits. The owner of Embroidery Art Unlimited said she loves to keep her front door open, but the truck traffic makes it hard to take phone calls from customers."It's noisy, it's dirty. I prefer they didn't come through, but it's a public road; they have every right to use it. It saves truckers time and gas. If I was a trucker, I'd use it," said Mary Rodgers.
