Locals: Palin Ready To Lead

JOHNSTOWN, Pa. -- On Wednesday, some residents of the Alleghenies told WJAC TV News that they think Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin is ready to be the next vice president of the United States.WJAC TV News spoke with Christine Toretti, who was on the floor of the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn. Toretti is a delegate from Indiana County and also the National Committeewoman from Pennsylvania. Toretti said she is a business woman who raised three kids and she is offended by the questions of whether Palin can handle the duties of vice president.

"I'm an only child. I ended up taking over a family business about 18 years ago and I didn't have a choice. It was about survival -- not only for my family, but for the 125 families that worked with me. To say that we can't do it is wrong," said Toretti.Other local Republicans at a watch party in Johnstown Wednesday night said they believe Sen. John McCain and Palin will win in Pennsylvania.
