Jefferson County Courthouse Renovation Plans Move Forward

Thursday, September 4, 2008 – updated: 8:56 pm EDT September 4, 2008

Plans for renovations at the Jefferson County Courthouse are moving forward.

But county officials may have to look for a new construction staging area.

The original plan included a staging area in an alley near the building.

Construction crews need space for four trailers.

At a meeting this week, some members of the Brookville Borough Council expressed concern over the plan.

They're worried about the trailers becoming an obstruction during a fire at the building.

County officials said they're looking into a few other staging locations across Brookville.

They added that construction should start sometime this fall.
