Johnstown Tech Park Taking Shape

Friday, September 5, 2008 – updated: 2:09 pm EDT September 5, 2008

A local congressman said he is pleased with the progress at the Johnstown Tech Park and hopes it will enhance the area.

"This is really a breakthrough," said Rep. John Murtha. "The other jobs we have aren't as high-class as this one, so I'm really pleased about the additions and type of work here."

The building is Johnstown's first "green building," and has plenty of insulation to keep it cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

The offices aren't yet ready, but the building is taking shape. The walls are up and the floors have been laid down, and contractors said they hope to have the facility open this November.

Northrop Grumman and MTS Technologies are the first companies slated to move in.
