An Ohio company is suing railcar Freightcar America, a railcar manufacturer that operated a plant in Johnstown.Bral Corp. alleges they had an exclusive contract to make casting for aluminum cars, but said Freightcar started obtaining the product from a rival company.Bral officials said they dropped the price of the castings because of the exclusive deal and are asking for $1,000 for each car that does not have their parts, plus $75,000 in damages.Officials said they found out about the breach of contract when Freightcar America returned defective castings that weren't made by them. The lawsuit comes just after the company made a deal with its union workers so they would receive their pensions. It was not clear as of Friday morning if the lawsuit could have any impact on those pensions.
