BLAIR COUNTY, Pa. -- The mayor of Williamsburg and the police sergeant put in their resignations Tuesday morning. They claimed they just can't see eye to eye with council when it comes to running the police department.Mayor John Traxler wrote that he was resigning because he can "no longer carry out his duties under such conditions."Sergeant Shawn Dishong wrote, "Mayor Traxler and myself have tried to provide a professional and credible police force for the community. Our efforts have failed with the borough council due to the lack of competence and intelligence on their part."It's still no clear exactly what the issue is that led to the resignations. So far, no one on the borough council will talk about the resignations, and neither will the mayor nor the police sergeant.
