Johnstown Man Left Blind From Bar Fight

Posted: 6:09 pm EST November 7, 2008Updated: 6:34 pm EST November 7, 2008

An attack outside a Johnstown bar has left a man blind in one eye.

It happened early Friday morning at the Clubhouse Bar in Hornerstown. The victim's family told WJAC he stopped by the bar to unwind from work. When he got up to leave, he was jumped by four men who began kicking him in the head.

The victim was taken to Memorial Medical Center and then flown to Pittsburgh because he was bleeding behind his eyes. WJAC was told that he is now blind in one eye but that doctors are confident he will regain his sight. He was just released from the hospital late on Friday.

Family members told WJAC that the victim did have a friend with him at the time, but it's unclear what he told police about the assault. So far, no arrests have been made.
