Police have charged Stephen Shesko with aggravated assault.

Erick Melius was driving in a van on Duncan Road when he saw a group of bear hunters. According to the police criminal complaint, Melius shouted obscenities at the group. Shesko ran up to the van and punched Melius, according to the police criminal complaint.

Melius drove off and then came back. When Melius stepped out of the van, police said Shesko kicked and punched Melius in the head and face. Melius was treated at Memorial Medical Center for serious injuries. He was released but a day later he died at his home in Cambria County.

After the fight, Shesko turned himself in to Indiana County State Police. Shesko is being held at $75,000.

The Cambria County Coroners Office is still waiting for the occicial cause of Melius death.
