Dish Network Won't Carry Super Bowl in High Definition

If you have Dish Network and want to watch the Super Bowl on WJAC in "high definition", you are out of luck.

According to Dish officials, they carry WJAC's standard signal but not the HD signal.

WJAC's Chief Engineer Rob Abele said the Johnstown station is HD ready and is currently broadcasting on UHF channel 34. On your converter box the channel is 6.1.

Direct TV and local cable networks are carrying WJAC in HD, but Dish officials said at this point there are no plans to have WJAC on HD in time for the Super Bowl on Feb. 1.

Again, if you don't want to watch the game in high definition there is no problem. It's only if you want HD quality.
