Clearfield County Hotel Remains Closed

SANDY TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Clearfield County hotel remains closed more than two weeks after employees stage a walk-out.The Clarion Inn, near DuBois, closed on Jan. 13.Employees said they weren't receiving paychecks from the hotel's owner, Georgia-based Kronos Hotels.According to the workers, their paychecks finally arrived this week.The closure has some local officials worried about how it will affect the local economy.The Clarion Inn is one of the only hotels in the DuBois area able to host meetings and conferences.The building has been used as a hotel for several decades.Officials at the DuBois Area Chamber of Commerce said they hope the hotel can remain in business.
