Johnstown Man Sentenced For Running Illegal Taxi Service

A Johnstown man was sentenced Tuesday for running an illegal taxi service.

Daniel Applegate pleaded no contest to the charges. Officials said Applegate had three cars in his taxi fleet but did not have a proper license to operate a taxi service.

A judge sentenced him to 15 months probation and community service. He will also have to pay $900 in fines and is not allowed to operate a cab or even wear a hat that says "Taxi Cab."
