Central Pa. 4th Fest Strapped For Cash

The recession has hit hard on the Central Pa. 4th Fest, the July 4th fireworks celebration in State College.

The Centre Daily Times reports corporate finanical support has fallen 35 percent, but organizers are still planning the biggest 4th Fest ever, with more fireworks shells than ever.

4th Fest may have to be scaled back in 2010 if the non-profit organization's rainy day fund gets used up.

It costs between $220,000 and $250,000 to stage 4th Fest.
