Negotiation Deadline Extended For Flight 93 Memorial Land
The Department of the Interior has extended its deadline for finishing negotiations with landowners for the Flight 93 Memorial.Last week, the Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar took a trip to Stoneycreek Township where he toured the temporary Flight 93 Memorial and also spoke with landowners personally. He reversed the National Park Service's decision to use eminent domain to seize the land but gave a week deadline for landowners in the service to strike a deal.Landowners say although negotiations are not final. They are hopeful a deal will be worked out. The acting director of the National Park Service Dan Wenk said encouraged by how negotiations have gone and said talks will continue over the weekend.
