Governor Expected To Announce New Local Jobs In Blair County

Posted: 1:25 pm EDT July 10, 2009

Gov. Ed Rendell was expected to be in Blair County to make an announcement about new jobs and new projects in the area.

Officials would not disclose what the details of the announcement would be.

In February, the last time Rendell was in Blair County, he announced there would be 500 new jobs at a call center.

Thursday, Rendell was in State College to push his education spending plan and was greeted by protesters.

As of noon, members of the Blair County Tea Party were waiting for Rendell to make his appearance. The group is opposing the governor's plan to increase taxes.
