Cambria County Commissioners, Several Groups Interested In Purchasing Laurel Crest

It has been a month since Cambria County Commissioners announced they would be selling the county-owned nursing home, Laurel Crest. Several groups are now interested in purchasing it.

More two than a dozen interested buyers have toured the facility. On Monday, commissioners hope to have all of the bids and will review them with their broker.

The sale of the nursing home still isn't sitting well with some employees who currently work there.

On Tuesday, some employees rallied in front of the Cambria County Courthouse demanding they know more information about the sale. Next week the commissioners will be sitting down with the employees off the record in a private meeting to answer whatever questions they can about the sale.

The county will be narrowing down the bid list three candidates. Commissioners want to sell the home by the end of year.
