The Cambria County Commissioners now control the future of Laurel Crest Manor. Three judges were supposed to hear arguments Tuesday about an injunction filed to stop the sale of the facility. The commissioners acted first, though, telling Conemaugh Health System they no longer want to sell. With that news, the judges ended the hearing. Now the commissioners will explore options for the home including another sale, refinancing, or creating an authority to own it. Conemaugh says it still has a claim to the facility. It says it will file suit to take control.
