State Police Arrest 21 On Drug Charges

State police arrested nearly two dozen people they believe are involved in drug activity. It's a move to help combat the growing drug problem in the area.

They arrested 21 of the 29 suspects they were looking for Monday morning. Along with the suspects, they said they seized around 1/4 pound of marijuana, some drug paraphernalia, and about $93 in cash.

According the the Indiana Coroner's Office, there were 30 drug-related deaths in 2008, but this year, the county has 19 so far. This statistic puts the county on track to have the most drug-related deaths since 2001.

Police are asking for the public to call the state's drug trafficking tip line if they ever see drug activity at 1-877-726-6378.
