A Cambria County judge has given permission to proceed with the demolition of the historic Braemar Cottage in Cresson. The Tribune-Democrat reported Wednesday that the Cresson Area Historical Association has tried to save the 121-year-old home, which they believe was once the summer home of Andrew Carnegie. The group was waiting on a $150,000 grant that would allow them to begin repairs. As a result of the judge's ruling, the cottage will be razed by a controlled burn by Nov. 15.
