Local Lawmakers Weigh In On Health Care
Representatives from the Alleghenies say they're fired up about health care reform, especially since is a large number of seniors in the area."Thirty-eight Seniors in the 9th District are going to lose that plan because they've determined that plan, they don't like it and you're going to put all those seniors, the 38,000 on regular medicare plans," U.S. Rep. Bill Shuster R-9th said.Shuster added he believes the plan will raise health care costs, add to the country's debt and increase taxes. He also said the plan won't guarantee that American can keep the plan they already have.WJACTV.com received this statement from U.S. Rep. John Murtha D-12th: "I have said that Congress must produce a uniquely American health care plan that lowers costs, extends coverage, includes those with pre-existing conditions and allows Americans to choose the doctor and health plan that works best for them and their families.
