State College Chooses New Mayor

CENTRE COUNTY, Pa. -- The race for State College mayor got turned upside down in September when incumbent Bill Welch passed away. Welch had captured both party nominations, forcing each side to nominate a candidate. Democrats chose council president Elizabeth Goreham. Republicans went with former councilman Joe Wakely.Voters chose Goreham to take Welch's place.
