Clearfield County Residents Concerned About Marcellus Shale Gas Drilling

Posted: 7:15 pm EST November 11, 2009Updated: 7:31 pm EST November 11, 2009

Residents in one Clearfield County community are speaking out over the effects of marcellus shale gas drilling.

The people live along Route 322 in Boggs Township.

Their houses are across the highway from a place where one gas company pumps water into trailers for the drilling process.

Residents said workers fill the trailers during all hours of the day and night.

They told WJAC-TV that process is very noisy and makes it hard to sleep.

The residents are also concerned about the amount of water pumped at the site.

They said millions of gallons of drinking water is pumped from the site.

Officials at that gas company, EOG Resources, said they've taken steps to cut down on noise at the site.

They declined to comment any further on the issue.
