Is Cambria County Still Thinking Of Selling Laurel Crest
12:51 p.m. EDT May 13, 2003
Ebensburg -- A newspaper report Tuesday says Cambria County has put together another deal to sell its nursing home, Laurel Crest Manor. It's a deal that would allow the county maintain control over the home. Tuesday's Altoona Mirror says the commissioners want to sell the home to Upper Yoder Township authority for 12-million dollars. The authority would then lease it back to the county. The sale amount is twice the price that the commissioners had agreed to earlier this year with Conemaugh Health Systems before backing out of the deal. It's expected this new proposal will be approved by the commissioners at their meeting Thursday.
