They're the only two teams of their kinds in the Alleghenies.

Members from the Altoona Fire Department's Hazmat Team and the Penn State Hazmat Response team met face to face on the campus of Penn State Altoona Wednesday morning.

This is the first time the two groups met.

They're hoping to pool their resources incase of a major disaster.

Together they have over 40 members, trained to respond to hazmat spills, hazmat spills or a terrorist attack.

Both are part of the South Central Mountains Regional Task Force.

They're planning on a second meeting in the spring.
