INDIANA, Pa. -- Because many parents might not know everything their kids are up to, a local program is offering tips for adults to keep their children drug-free.“What Kids Don't Want You To Know” is a program where organizations teach parents how to make sure their kids stay off drugs. The Addiction Recovery Center and the Armstrong-Indiana Drug and Alcohol Commission teamed up to show where kids can hide prescription pills and narcotics.Representative Kathy Velcko, a prevention specialist, said teens can hide drug in everything including Pringles cans and Pez dispensers.Velcko suggests keeping an open-door policy at home and watching how their children are acting. She said teens have been know to hide marijuana pipes in highlighter pens and disguise drug scales as computer mice.“Any time you see kids with a lot of concealed containers, it’s a great hiding place for prescription drugs,” she said. “Kids are pretty sneaky. They’re not going to leave a lot of evidence laying around.”
