One Dead; Dozens Injured In Interstate 80 Crash

LAWRENCE TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- One person is dead and dozens were injured in an accident Wednesday on Interstate 80.The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. on the eastbound lanes of the interstate in Clearfield County.Fifty vehicles were involved in the accident and demolished tractor-trailers blocked the roadway.An Illinois man died in the accident.More than 25 others were taken to the hospital with injuries.Clearfield Hospital set up a mass casualty unit to deal with the accident.Interstate 80 was closed into Wednesday evening.The roadway reopened around 8 p.m.Emergency officials said it will take some time to clean up the demolished tractor-trailers.
