Does Program's Closure At UPMC Have Ties To A Merger?

-- UPMC Lee Regional in Johnstown is denying that the closure of one of its programs has anything to do with a potential merger. Lee Officials announced Tuesday that the hospital is terminating its Open Heart Surgery Program. They said there weren't enough patients in the Johnstown area to support a program at Lee and Conemaugh Hospital. On Wednesday, they said talks of merging with Conemaugh did not influence the decision.
