Man Charged With Attempted Murder Following A Shooting

Elk County -- Police in Elk County have arrested a 70 year old man and charged him with attempted murder. It happened Sunday afternoon following a shooting in the village of Weedville in Jay Township.
According to police, Francis Pumphrey got into an argument with his wife. When his wife said she was going to live with Tazona Shockley, Pumphrey refused and shot Shockley twice; once in the neck and once in the stomach. Shockley is listed in critical condition at Altoona Hospital. Meanwhile, Pumphrey is behind bars this morning.
