Cambria County Seeks Reimbursements For Nursing Home

Friday, September 1, 2006 – updated: 1:56 pm EDT September 1, 2006

Cambria County officials said they could be capturing more state and federal reimbursements for the county nursing home, Laurel Crest.

County commissioners created a new full-time position designed to handle that assignment. The job is medical data set, or an M.D.S., coordinator and pays $51,000 per year.

The primary responsibility will be seeking reimbursement dollars that are currently falling through the cracks.

The commissioners said the position could save the county thousands of dollars.
