Johnstown Police Say Drunk Man Tried To Rob Three Sheetz Stores

A Johnstown man is jailed on charges he tried to rob three different Sheetz stores Wednesday night.David Chalfont, 44, was also charged with driving under the influence. Witnesses told police Chalfont was clearly intoxicated.Johnstown and West Hills police said they believe Chalfont first tried to hold up the Sheetz store in Moxham at knifepoint, but left without any cash.Police believe Chalfont next tried to rob the Sheetz on Haynes Street in Kernville, then later told a clerk at the Sheetz on Goucher Street in Lower Yoder Township he had a gun.
