Police find marijuana plants growing in Blair Co. woods

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Police found a marijuana grow operation in the woods of Altoona, Blair County, Friday.

The plants that were found were confiscated and placed in the evidence room of the Altoona Police Department.

In place of the plants police left a sign asking the public to report drug activity by calling a phone number for Operation Our Town. Operation Our Town is an initiative for police to take drugs off the streets.

Police left the sign in place of the plants to notify the growers that the plants were confiscated.

There was no information provided on who placed the plants in the woods.
