Police investigate string of Blair Co. vehicle break-ins and thefts

ANTIS TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Police in Blair County are investigating several vehicle break-ins and thefts and are reminding vehicle owners to lock their cars.

State police at Hollidaysburg reported two vehicles were stolen and nine vehicles were broken into between 10:30 p.m. Tuesday and 6 a.m. Wednesday in Grandview Road and Stapleton Street areas in Antis and Snyder townships.

Richard Himes, 74, and Doris Weyant had vehicles stolen from their driveways, police said. The keys for the vehicles were left inside and both were unlocked.

Police said Travis Mills, 27, and Donald Mills, 82, had their vehicles ransacked, and Norman Stapleton, 57, had three of his vehicles ransacked.

Janet Mills, 55, had items stolen from her vehicles and Robert Stager, 62, has radios stolen from three of his vehicles, police said.

Police said money was stolen from the vehicles and all were unlocked.

Police said residents are reminded to keep their vehicles locked. Anyone with information about the break-ins was asked to contact the Hollidaysburg barracks at 814-696-6100.
