Police: Two arrested after drug purchase

ALTOONA, Pa. -- Kenneth Saulmarshall, 34, and Dwayne Pendergrass, 28, were arrested Monday after they sold heroin and cocaine to undercover officers police said.

Police said the purchases occurred two separate times one when a undercover officer purchased two bags of cocaine from Saulmarshall in a parking lot on 6th Avenue in Altoona, Blair County for $100.

Saulmarshall was searched after the purchase and found the $100 the undercover officer used to purchase the cocaine and an additional $105 along with a cellphone.

The second time occurred on 15th Avenue in Altoona, Blair County with Pendergrass when an undercover cop purchased seven packets of heroin for $100.

After an officer purchased the heroin Pendergrass was stopped so police could place him in custody.

Police said Pendergrass tried to run from the officers on food near Willow Avenue 5th Street in Altoona Blair County and was arrested on Cherry Avenue.

No injuries occurred during Pendergrass' chase.

Police said Saulmarshall is to be charged with delivery of cocaine, criminal use of a communications facility and possession of cocaine for the arrest.

Pendergrass is to be charged with delivery of heroin, fleeing or attempting to elude police along with other charges.

Both Saulmarshall and Pendergrass were taken to the Blair County Jail.
