ALTOONA, Pa. -- A group of senior citizens will be hitting the catwalk to show off the latest fashions and also to help raise funds for a good cause.

Home Instead Senior Care and Elmcroft of Altoona are sponsoring the Senior Fashion Show at the Logan Valley Mall on Saturday. The event is part of Older American Awareness Month and runs from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Senior models, both clients and caregivers, will be on the runway displaying the latest styles from mall stores, including Sears and Macy's.

Home Instead Senior Care Community Service Representative Endy Reindl said the event also helps seniors build their self-esteem.

"The other day trying, you know, trying the clothes on and getting them fitted they came in pretty like, you know, 'I don't know about this, I'm not sure,'" Reindl said. "But, in the time they left, they loved it. It's all about being positive, having a god time and really knowing that they're still a valuable member of the community."

Money will also be collected for the local Walk to End Alzheimer's, which will take place in September at Legion Park in Hollidaysburg.
