WOODLAND, Pa. -- The former owners of a Clearfield County trucking company are being accused of deceiving their employees.

Timothy and David Kephart are facing civil action from the United States Department of Labor.

Money that was deducted from nearly 100 employee paychecks was supposed to be deposited into 401(k) accounts and go toward health insurance never made it, authorities said.

The Department of Labor found more than $270,000 in contributions had been misappropriated.

6 News stopped by the Kephart Trucking Company to see if anyone was there to comment, but the company has been closed down and the only people working there now are men hired by the bank that now owns the property.

A search warrant obtained by 6 News showed state police are looking for all of the information associated with the Kepharts’ accounts at an M&T Bank in Centre County. Authorities are also looking for a man name Mark Michael who was the CFO for the company.

As of right now criminal charges have been filed and both Timothy and Mark Michael were convicted last August of a check fraud scheme out of Ohio for a trucking company they worked for.

The Department of Labor wants the Kepharts to pay back the money and be banned from ever having control over those types of accounts again.
