KANE, Pa. -- A McKean County woman charged with being under influence of prescription medicine when she caused a head-on crash that killed six people will stand trial in September.

Jury selection is scheduled to begin Sept. 15 for 37-year-old Kathleen Douglas, of Kane.

She's charged with six counts of homicide by vehicle while under the influence of a controlled substance and other crimes.

Police allege Douglas had 12 times the prescribed daily dose of clonazepam in her blood when the Aug. 31 crash occurred on U.S. Route 219 in the Allegheny National Forest. The drug is used to treat seizures and panic disorders.

Authorities said Douglas' sport utility vehicle crossed the center line and hit an approaching car, killing her 12-year-old daughter, her 6-year-old nephew and the four adults from Elk County in the other car.
