PENN TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A 13-month-old boy is dead after drowning at Raystown Lake in Huntingdon County Wednesday morning, according to state police.
State police at Huntingdon have ruled the drowning death of Jamari Maliik Benjamin, of Ephrata, Lancaster County, as accidental.
Huntingdon County emergency dispatch said several crews were called to James Creek Boat Launch for a child who fell off a boat just after 8 a.m.
Police said a Good Samaritan, who was operating a boat nearby, helped the parents get the boy to emergency personnel.
Dispatch said the boy was then taken to J.C. Blair Memorial Hospital in Huntingdon.
Police said they are looking to identify the Good Samaritan. The person was operating a blue and white boat. Anyone with information about this person should contact troopers at 814-627-3161.
Police said the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission and Huntingdon County Coroner's Office are assisting with the investigation. An autopsy is scheduled for Thursday afternoon.
This is the third death at Raystown Lake this summer.
In June, 23-year-old Dustin Weyandt, of Duncansville, drowned while attempting to swim across a cove at the lake.
On July 3, Francesca Harris, 36, of Carlisle, died as the result of a boating accident.
