ALTOONA, Pa.--One local man dealing with a disease is using music to heal not only himself, but others.
"The very first symptoms were I woke up one day and my whole left side was numb; I just thought I slept wrong," Tim Surkovich said.
Surkovich was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis and writes lyrics to help him cope with the disease.
"It started as a therapeutic exercise of mine, just to get some feelings out. I never intended on it to get this big," he said.
He said he woke up in the middle of the night to write and kept his feelings to himself until he sent the lyrics to his friend Randy Sciarrillo, who is in a band.
"As I read through it, I was so moved by it. I connected with it because I have been friends with Tim for a while and I understand what he has gone through," Sciarrillo said.
Sciarrillo is in a band and helped bring Surkovivh's lyrics to life, making a full album and music videos called Project Diagnosis.
Surkovich and Sciarrillo hoping to spread raise money and spread awareness about M.S.
