ALTOONA, Pa. -- Students at Altoona Central Catholic School are divided into two different campuses: pre-K to fourth grade go to school at the Saint Therese of the child Jesus Parish, and grades five through eight are at Saint Mary Parish.
The problem is Saint Mary is so old that the building cannot be used anymore.
Starting next year grades six through eight will be able to go to Saint Road of Lima School.
“So the time came when we said let’s take advantage of this offer from Saint Rose to house our students and we’re going to do that,” said Tony DeGol, of Diocese of Altoona-Johnstown.
Fifth-graders will be able to remain at the Saint Therese campus; there are about 300 students at Altoona Central Catholic.
