ST. MARYS Pa.---One Elk County man is on a mission to help those in need from all over the country.
Albert Assalone has got sole! He is collecting sneakers to be donated to Hurricane Sandy victims, and other victims of natural disasters in the South and Midwest. This is the eighth year he has hosted the collection and his goal is to collect 1,000 shoes to be donated."
I really like helping people -- it is all about God you know," Assalone said. "He always says do unto others as you do unto you so these needs are out there and they have to be met."
Donations can be dropped off at the Saint Marys Resale Shop, the Shiloh Presbyterian church and DD's Bakery. Shoes should be either new or gently used; all sizes are welcome.
