WARRIORS MARK TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- A Blair County man has been arrested on child sex abuse-related charges for crimes that were allegedly committed in the mid-1990s.
State police at Huntingdon said Tobias Benson, 41, of Tyrone, sexually assaulted a male juvenile on several occasions between 1993 and 1996 in Warriors Mark Township in Huntingdon County.
Police said Benson, who was between 20- and 24-years-old at the time, allegedly sexually assaulted the boy when he was between the ages of 9 and 12 during those years. The alleged victim is now 30-years-old.
Police said Benson made the boy perform oral sex and touch his genitals, and that Benson would touch the boy's genitals.
Benson was charged the 75 counts each of involuntary deviate sexual intercourse with a person less than 13-year-of-age, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse by forcible compulsion and indecent assault of a person less than 13-year-of-age. All three are felony counts.
The charges were filed Friday at Magisterial District Judge Douglas Gummo's office in Alexandria.
Benson was placed in the Huntingdon County Prison on $500,000 bail, police said. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for Aug. 5.
