Three local restaurants burglarized in the past two weeks.
Burglars are targeting safes full of cash from Lamonicas, Green Gables, and Coal Miners Café in Jennerstown, Somerset County.
“I felt for Green Gables and I felt for Lamonicas,” Coal Miners Café Owner Betty Rhoads said.
Rhoads recalled the moments she heard two local businesses were burglarized last week. She says her daughter warned her about the burglaries.
Little did she know, her business would be next?
She says burglars went through large portions of the building.
State police said several items were stolen, which Rhoads says includes money from a safe.
“I don’t take stealing lightly. They took thing that belong to me and my family and don’t belong to anyone else,” she said.
Lamonicas and Green Gables reported their safes were targeted too. State police say it is still unknown if they are connected.
“No one realizes until it happened to them and the fear it puts into you,” she says.
Rhoads saddened and angered saying she will do her best to find out who did this.
