Talk to anybody who knows anything about heroin, and they'll tell you: it's a killer.
Gone are the days when heroin lurked in the shadows of the night in inner city communities. Users today are professionals, adults with good common sense, even children.
"It's everywhere. I mean, no matter where you go, you can't hide from it," said Det. Kevin Price, of the Cambria County Drug Task Force.
Det. Price is serving as an expert panelist in the 6 News town hall event, 'Heroin: Our Town's Addiction.'
The goal is to educate the public about what Det. Price calls an "epidemic" in our communities.
Panelists include an addiction counselor, law enforcement officials and a former addict.
The event is November 13th at 7 p.m. at Heritage Hall on the Pitt-Johnstown campus and is open to the public.
Registration is encouraged, and can be completed by visiting: http://www.wjactv.com/news/features/town-hall/
The town hall will also be streamed live on wjactv.com
