SOMERSET TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- State police and the county coroner are investigating after a body was found along the berm of the Pennsylvania Turnpike, near the Somerset exit.

Police said the body of Antwan Dash, 33, of Akron, Ohio, was found about 7 a.m. Tuesday near a drainage ditch along the eastbound lanes near mile marker 108 in Somerset Township. That would be about two miles west of the Somerset exit.

Investigators said Dash had been shot in the head and died from that gunshot wound.

Police said the manner of death is pending further investigation, but no further details would be immediately released "due to the sensitivity of the investigation."

Police said someone spotted the Dash's body and reported it.
