QUEMAHOMING TOWNSHIP, Pa. -- Firefighters in Somerset County battled a fire at a home Friday morning.

Somerset County emergency dispatch said crews were called to a home on 697 Pompey Hill Rd. in Quemahoning Township just after 8:30 a.m.

Officials said the owner of the home was the only person at the house when the fire started. No injuries were reported, but one person was taken to an area hospital for evaluation. It wasn't clear if that person was the resident or a firefighter.

The home was heavily damaged. There was no immediate information on what may have started the fire.
