SOMERSET, Pa. -- The Somerset County Mobile Food Pantry makes it easier for people to receive their meals by distributing them off a trailer.

“Well that’s why we started it because there is so many that can’t get to local food pantries so we take it to them now,” said Chairman Rev. Barry Ritenour. “Come to locations and we are able to distribute food.”

Hundreds of organizers and volunteers work to get the food prepared and packaged for deliveries.

“Providing half million pounds of food for the needy in our family and our goal is to increase that.”

The Somerset Area Ministries has a partnership with the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank and are always welcoming people to attend their pantries.

“We appreciate all the help we can get from the county.”

The Somerset Food Bank is a non-profit and operates only on donations.
