1 injured in Cambria Co. shooting; suspect charged

PORTAGE BOROUGH, Pa. —

Police said a suspect is charged after an early morning shooting in Cambria County.

The shooting happened around 2:30 a.m. on the 600 block of Makin Street in Portage Borough.

The suspect, Benjamin Schoenfeld, turned himself in to police. He has been charged with criminal attempted homicide and aggravated assault.

According to a criminal complaint, Schoenfeld is accused of shooting Donald Lewis III through a front door.

Investigators said Lewis was taken to a local hospital. There was no word on his condition as of 12:30 p.m.
