PUNXSUTAWNEY, Pa. —

A multi-million dollar health care project is in the works for Jefferson County.

Local leaders said, the $11 million dollar project is expected to start within a few months.

According to the project description a three-story 45,000 square foot facility will be constructed in the P&N Commerce Park at the intersection of Lever Street and Prushnok Drive.

Officials said the facility will serve as a community health center that delivers much needed health services for underserved populations.

The company that will own the facility is The Primary Health Network, which is headquartered in Sharon, Pennsylvania.

Lashinsky said that by leasing the facility to other medical-related businesses, the project will create an estimate 57 new health care and social service positions and retain an estimated 55 positions over the course of five years.

The total project cost is estimated at $11,180,600.

Officials said Primary Health network will occupy 15,000 square feet of the building.

The company plants to co-locate healthcare and social services into the facility.
