150 Red Cross Workers Hit Picket Lines

More than 150 union workers hit the picket lines Sunday saying they were prepared to stay out of work until they got what they wanted. Some may wonder if the strike will affect blood donations.

Red Cross leaders said they would do their best to have enough people on staff to continue to collect blood. Those on strike are members of the Communication Workers of America, and for two months have not been able to resolve contract issues with the Red Cross.

Red Cross leaders said no more negotiations are scheduled. Union workers said they are unsure of how long they will strike.
